What is Rate Limiting?
With the "Quarantine" Action, various information can be monitored (such as IP and User Agent or V-Host and IP) to create quarantine conditions. In the event of exceeding the Rate Limiting thresholds, different actions can be taken, such as blocking, redirecting, or displaying content to clients. During the specified quarantine period, access to the Backend Service is restricted based on the chosen action. This action can be configured specifically for one path or a specific client IP address.

Rate Limiting with Quarantine Action
Step > 1
Follow these steps: "Traffic Manager > Traffic Manipulation > Actions > Add" In the opened screen, select "Quarantine" as the Action Type.
Step > 2
Under the "Tracking Key" tab, select the desired information. "Tracking Time" is used to specify the duration for which the information will be tracked.
Step > 3
The desired value is selected for "Quarantine Condition". By choosing "Quarantine Time" and "Quarantine Action", what will happen when the condition is met is determined.
Step > 4
Through the "Conditions" tab, the criteria for activating quarantine can be selected. If no specific information is selected, it will always be active. For example, a condition can be created for the /login.php path.
The "Quarantine" action is created by clicking the "Add" button.
Step > 5
To assign the created action to a vService, the editing screen of the relevant vService is opened. By activating "Details > Actions", the created Quarantine Action is selected, and changes are applied by clicking the "Save" button.
Step > 6
Quarantine Action Monitoring
To monitor the created Quarantine Action, follow the steps "Monitor Mode > Related vService > Logs" in the TR7 web management interface. In the opened screen, information about the clients that are being tracked and quarantined can be checked. Actions such as checking the IP addresses in quarantine and removing them from quarantine can also be performed.
