Add Interface
About
What are Interfaces?
New interfaces can be added to the TR7 ASP device.
How to Add?
To add a new Interface to the TR7 ASP device, follow the steps through the TR7 ASP web interface Network > Interfaces > Actions > Add Interface.
Types of Interfaces That Can Be Added
- VLAN (802.1Q)
- V-ETH (MACVTAP)
- V-ETH (Peer) [Virtual Ethernet]
- Bond (Balancer-rr)
- LACP (802.3ad)
- Bridge (L2 Switch 802.1d)
Interface
VLAN (802.1Q) > Interface Adding Form
Follow the steps "Network > Interfaces > Actions > Add Interface" to add a new Interface to the TR7 ASP device.
What is VLAN (802.1Q)?
Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) is created by logically grouping network users and resources on a Local Area Network (LAN) and assigning them to ports on a switch. Using VLANs reduces broadcast transmission and increases bandwidth.
TR7 ASP devices can define up to 4096 VLANs. VLAN IDs can only be used once. Multiple VLANs with the same VLAN ID cannot be created. An interface where VLAN is created can act as both Untagged and Tagged.
- Type
VLAN is selected.
- Route Table
Select the Route Table through which the Interface will be created. If no Route Table has been added, the interface will be added to the DEFAULT Route Table. Click here for detailed information about Route Tables.
- Interface Name
Enter a name for the Interface to be created.
- Master Interface
Select on which Interface the VLAN will be defined. All interfaces available on the TR7 ASP device are listed in the dropdown menu for selection.
- Details
Activate the Details button to use the feature listed below.
o TCP Acceleration
Ensures that each new TCP connection is passed from Kernel Space to User Space.
- Add Interface
Click the Add Interface
button to add the Interface.
V-ETH (MACVTAP) > Interface Adding Form
Follow the steps "Network > Interfaces > Actions > Add Interface" to add a new Interface to the TR7 ASP device.
What is V-ETH?
V-ETH allows the creation of a virtualized bridge interface (MACVTAP) on the selected interface.
- Type
V-ETH is selected.
- Route Table
Select the Route Table through which the Interface will be created. If no Route Table has been added, the interface will be added to the DEFAULT Route Table. Click here for detailed information about Route Tables.
- Interface Name
Enter a name for the Interface to be created.
- Master Interface
Select on which Interface the V-ETH will be defined.
V-ETH (Peer) [Virtual Ethernet] > Interface Adding Form
Follow the steps "Network > Interfaces > Actions > Add Interface" to add a new Interface to the TR7 ASP device.
What is V-ETH (Peer)?
V-ETH (Peer) interface is used to allow two completely isolated Route Tables to communicate with each other.
- Type
V-ETH (Peer) is selected.
- Route Table
Select the Route Table through which the Interface will be created. If no Route Table has been added, the interface will be added to the DEFAULT Route Table. Click here for detailed information about Route Tables.
- Interface Name
Enter a name for the Interface to be created.
- V-ETH Peer
Select the V-ETH (Peer) interface.

Activate the Details button to use the feature listed below.
o TCP Acceleration
Ensures that each new TCP connection is passed from Kernel Space to User Space.
- Add Interface
Click the Add Interface
button to add the Interface.
Bond (Balance-rr) > Interface Adding Form
Follow the steps "Network > Interfaces > Actions > Add Interface" to add a new Interface to the TR7 ASP device.
What is Bond (Balance-rr)?
Bond (Balancer-rr) transmits packets from the first available interface to other interfaces using the Round Robin algorithm.
On TR7 ASP devices, Bond interfaces can be created in Balancer-rr mode.
- Type
Bond is selected.
- Route Table
Select the Route Table through which the Interface will be created. If no Route Table has been added, the interface will be added to the DEFAULT Route Table. Click here for detailed information about Route Tables.
- Interface Name
Enter a name for the Interface to be created.
- Bond Members
Select on which Interface or Interfaces the Bond will be defined.
LACP (802.3ad) > Interface Adding Form
Follow the steps "Network > Interfaces > Actions > Add Interface" to add a new Interface to the TR7 ASP device.
LACP Nedir?
LACP (802.3ad) is a protocol that allows multiple physical interfaces to work redundantly on a single channel.
On TR7 ASP devices, interfaces can be created with LACP.
- Type
LACP is selected.
- Route Table
Select the Route Table through which the Interface will be created. If no Route Table has been added, the interface will be added to the DEFAULT Route Table. Click here for detailed information about Route Tables.
- Interface Name
Enter a name for the Interface to be created.
- Bond Members
Select on which Interface or Interfaces the LACP will be defined. All interfaces available on the TR7 ASP device are listed in the dropdown menu for selection.
- LACP Transmit Rate
Select how often LACP-PDUs will be sent between two devices while synchronizing with LACP, either every 1 second or every 30 seconds.
Fast Mode > 1 LACP-PDU is sent every 1 second.
Slow Mode > 1 LACP-PDU is sent every 30 seconds.
