Notifications

About

Notifications are used to send alerts to the administrator who wants to receive them via email, ui or SNMP trap about the backend service status, vService status, bandwidth, request rate, current sessions, certificate expire, new connection count, based on the vService.

How to Add?

To add a new Notification Profile, navigate to the Traffic Manager > Profiles > Notifications > Add tab from the TR7 ASP web interface.

By following "Traffic Manager > Profiles > Notifications" you can access a list of all vService Notification Profiles on the TR7 ASP device. On this screen, you can add, edit, and delete vService Notification Profiles.

- 1 (Information to be Displayed in the Table)


Select which information to display in the table listing the vService Notification Profiles.
The selectable and default information includes;

  • Notification Profile Name
  • Backend Service Status
  • vService Status
  • Request rate
  • Number of New Connections
  • Certificate Expiry Notify Days
  • E-mail
  • UI Notification
  • Bandwidth
  • Current Session
  • SNMP Trap

- 2 (Add)


Click the Add button to open a form for creating a new vService Notification Profile.

- 3 (Delete)


One or more vService Notification Profiles can be selected and deleted by clicking the Delete button.

- 4 (Edit)


Click the Edit button to open the editing screen for the relevant vService Notification Profile.


Used to search for all expressions in the table.


Used to regexp search for all expressions in the table.


Used to column based search for all expressions in the table.

- 8 (Usage Filter)


Used to filter which vServices all expressions in the table are used in.

- 9 (Page Information)


Information about how many vService Notification Profiles are listed and how many are in the opened list. When vService Notification Profiles are selected on the left side for deletion, the information about the selected vService Notification Profile is also displayed here.

- 10 (Page Size)


Select how many vService Notification Profiles will be listed in the opened list. You can switch between pages using arrow symbols.

After following "Traffic Manager > Profiles > Notifications" clicking on any profile opens a window on the right side of the screen with information about the relevant profile.

This window also provides information about "Used In". For instance, the "www_Notifi" profile is used in the "www.tr7.com" vService.

The preview can be closed by clicking the (x) button at the top right of the opened window.

A new vService Notification Profile is added to the TR7 ASP device by following "Traffic Manager > Profiles > Notifications > Add".

- Notification Profile Name


Enter a name for the new vService Notification Profile.

- Backend Service Status


Activate to send notifications about the health check status (Up/Down) of Backend Services in the vService.

- vService Status


Activate to send notifications about the opening/closing status of the vService.

- Bandwidth


Activate to send notifications when the bandwidth on the vService exceeds the set value, depending on the usage type.

- Request Rate


Activate to send notifications when the request frequency on the vService exceeds the set value.

- Current Session


Activate to send notifications when the number of live sessions on the vService exceeds the set value.

- Certificate Expiry Notify Days


Set a value to send notifications when the designated value of certificate expiry day has been achieved.

- Number of New Connections


Activate to send notifications when the number of new connections on the vService exceeds the set value.

- Mute Night Notifications


When activated, notifications between 22:00 and 08:00 are disabled. It is not selected by default.

- SNMP Trap


Activate to enable SNMP trap notifications specific to the vService. It is disabled by default.

Warning

For SNMP trap transmission, configurations related to the server to which SNMP traps will be sent must be set up in the TR7 ASP device. Click here to make the relevant configuration. click here.

- E-Mail


Activate to enter the email addresses to which notifications will be sent. Multiple email addresses can be added by clicking the (+) button on the right. It is disabled by default.

For email transmission, configurations for the email address from which the TR7 ASP device will send emails must be set up. Click here to make the relevant configuration. click here.

- SMS


Used to receive notifications via SMS.

- UI Notification


Activate to send notifications about the Up/Down status of interfaces defined on the vService. It is disabled by default.

- Add


Click the Add button to add the Notification Profile.

How to Add a Notification Profile to the vService?

Step > 1

First, follow "Settings Mode > vServices" on the TR7 web interface.

Step > 2

On the resulting screen, right-click the vService to which the Notification Profile will be added and select Edit, or click on the relevant vService and follow "Actions > Edit" from the pane that opens on the right to reach the same window.

Step > 3

In the vService's editing screen, select "Details > Notification" to activate the Notification. Default profile can be used when it is first activated.

To use a previously added profile other than Default profile or to add a new profile, click the arrow next to the profile. Selections can be made from existing profiles.

A new Notification Profile can also be added by clicking the Add button on the vService screen.

Click the Save button to save the changes and wait for the vService to be reconfigured.
