About
vService Limits Profiles are used to limit requests coming to TR7 vServices.
How to Add?
To add a new vService Limits Profile, navigate to the Traffic Manager > Profiles > vService Limits > Add tab from the TR7 ASP web interface.

vService Limits Profiles Listing Screen
By following "Traffic Manager > Profiles > vService Limits" you can access a list of all vService Limits Profiles on the TR7 ASP device. On this screen, you can add, edit, and delete vService Limits Profiles.
- 1 (Information to be Displayed in the Table)
Select which information to display in the table listing the vService Limits Profiles.
The selectable and default information includes;
- Name
- Max. Total Connections
- Max. Failed Connection Retries
- Max. New Connecions /s
- Max. Connections /s
- Max. Total SSL Connections
- Max. SSL Connections /s
- Buffer Size(kB)
- Max. Session Rate /s
- 2 (Add)
Click the Add
button to open a form for creating a new vService Limits Profile.
- 3 (Delete)
One or more vService Limits Profiles can be selected and deleted by clicking the Delete
button.
- 4 (Edit)
Click the Edit
button to open the editing screen for the relevant vService Limits Profile.
- 5 (Search)
Used to search for all expressions in the table.
- 6 (RegExp Search)
Used to regexp search for all expressions in the table.
- 7 (Column Based Search)
Used to column based search for all expressions in the table.
- 8 (Usage Filter)
Used to filter which vServices all expressions in the table are used in.
- 9 (Page Information)
Information about how many vService Limits Profiles are listed and how many are in the opened list. When vService Limits Profiles are selected on the left side for deletion, the information about the selected vService Limits Profile is also displayed here.
- 10 (Page Size)
Select how many vService Limits Profiles will be listed in the opened list. You can switch between pages using arrow symbols.
- Preview of the Selected Profile
After following "Traffic Manager > Profiles > vService Limits" clicking on any profile opens a window on the right side of the screen with information about the relevant profile.
This window also provides information about "Used In". For instance, the "Limit_2" vService limit profile is used in the "support.tr7.com" vService.
The preview can be closed by clicking the (x)
button at the top right of the opened window.
Interface
vService Limits Profile Adding Form
A new vService Limits Profile is added to the TR7 ASP device by following "Traffic Manager > Profiles > vService Limits > Add".
- Name
Enter a name for the new vService Limits Profile.
- Max. Total Connections
Enter the maximum number of connections that can come to the vService. (0-1000000000) The default value is 20000.
- Max. Failed Connection Retries
Enter the maximum number of failed connection attempts that can come to the vService. (0-1000) The default value is 3.
- Max. New Connecions /s
Enter the number of new connections per second that can come to the vService. The default value is 5000.
- Max. Connections /s
Enter the maximum frequency of connections per second that can come to the vService. The default value is 10000.
- Max. Session Rate /s
Enter the maximum frequency of sessions per second that can come to the vService. The default value is 10000.
- Max. Total SSL Connections
Enter the maximum number of SSL connections that can come to the vService. The default value is 5000.
- Max. SSL Connections /s
Enter the maximum frequency of SSL connections per second that can come to the vService. The default value is 2000.
- Buffer Size (kB)
Enter the buffer size in kilobytes (kB). (16-1048576) The default value is 128 kB.
- Add
Click the Add
button to add the vService Limits Profile.

How to Add a vService Limits Profile to the vService?
Step > 1
First, follow "Settings Mode > vServices" on the TR7 web interface.
Step > 2
On the resulting screen, right-click the vService to which the vService Limits Profile will be added and select Edit
or click on the relevant vService and follow "Actions > Edit" from the pane that opens on the right to
Step > 3
In the vService's editing screen, select "Details > vService Limits" to activate the vService Limits. Default profile can be used when it is first activated.
Step > 4
To use a previously added profile other than Default profile or to add a new profile, click the arrow next to the profile. Selections can be made from existing profiles.
A new vService Limits Profile can also be added by clicking the Add
button on the vService screen.
Step > 5
Click the Save
button to save the changes and wait for the vService to be reconfigured.
