User Authentication (On HTTP Request)

About

The User Authentication (On HTTP Request) action is used after a request is made to the vServices and it can only be used with specified username and password based on the User Authentication condition. It can be used with multiple condition selections. To activate the User Authentication (On HTTP Request) action , the User Authentication condition must be selected.

How to Add?

To add a User Authentication (On HTTP Request) action from TR7 ASP web interface, "Traffic Manager > Traffic Manipulation > Actions > Add" steps are followed. At the current page User Authentication (On HTTP Request) is selected as a Action Type and the following form is shown.

- Action Name


Name for the action is entered.

- Action Type


User Authentication (On HTTP Request) is selected.

- Realm


Enter Realm information for HTTP authentication.

- Conditions


Condition(s) that will trigger the action is/are selected. For detailed information about conditions, click here.

- Form Buttons

Add button can be clicked to add the configured action.

Add & Repeat button can be clicked to add the configured action. New similar actions can also be added without losing the current configuration by clicking this button. The following alert is shown when the button is clicked.

- Example Usage

In the example, with the added conditions, if the path of the request made to the vServices matches /index.php, the User Authentication condition works, prompting the client for user authentication.
