What It Concluded

What Is What It Concluded?

What It Concluded reports the conclusion that the engine has reached in the last evaluation with a single sentence: it writes how many settings have been judged, for how many of them there is a recommendation and that the rest have been found suitable as they are. The refreshing of the result is also done from here; the Re-assess button in the title runs the engine again over the settings in force and the traffic learned up to that moment.

It is only a reading and recalculating surface: it does not change any setting and does not open an edit window. What will be done with the result is decided on the third card of Learning.

It reads the same evaluation as the numbers in the upper band

The Settings Reviewed and Suggestions Waiting counters above the band and the sentence on this card come from the same evaluation. The "how many settings were judged" value in the sentence is the same number as Settings Reviewed, and the "for how many of them there is a recommendation" value the same number as Suggestions Waiting.

The What It Concluded Card in the Learning Strip

The card is the one in the middle among the three cards in the body of the band. At the top the title, the icon and the Re-assess button; in the middle the result sentence; at the bottom the number of the verified settings are located.

The anatomy of the card:

SectionWhat it shows
TitleWhat It Concluded and the clipboard icon.
Re-assessThe button at the right end of the title; it runs the engine again.
The sentenceThe result of the last evaluation. It takes one of the four variants below.
The Verified numberBelow the card; the number of settings for which the engine looked and found no touching necessary.

The Variants of the Sentence

StateSentence
There is no evaluated setting (the result has not come yet or the evaluation has not produced any setting)Preparing suggestions…
There is a waiting recommendationAll <total> settings were judged; it has a suggestion for <waiting> of them and found the rest fine as they are.
There is no recommendation at allAll <total> settings were judged; nothing needs changing right now.
If there are findings as wellIt is added to the end of the sentence above: There are also <number> rule findings: not threshold suggestions, but things for you to look at.

The findings (Attention) are not counted as recommendations: they do not enter the Suggestions Waiting counter, for this reason they are written as a separate addition to the sentence. If there is a single finding, it is opened from the row on the What It Can Do for You card; if there is more than one finding, that card shows only the badge that gives the number and the findings are opened from the protection card or the row on the page that carries the same badge.

The Verified Number

The number below the card is the total of the settings that have received the Verified mark in the evaluation: the settings that the engine has checked against the traffic it has learned and for which it has not found anything to be changed. This row is not written at all while an evaluation result has not been formed yet (in the Preparing suggestions… state).

Re-assess

Re-assess is the button at the right end of the title of the card and it runs the engine again. The tooltip of the button explains the job it does as follows: Runs the engine again over the current settings and the traffic learned so far.

  • While the evaluation is in progress, the icon of the button turns and the button does not take clicks.
  • A second request that comes while the evaluation is in progress is not raced: it is queued and is run once more when the current evaluation ends.
  • The new result updates not only this card but also the counters in the upper band, the action list on the third card and the result badges on the protection cards.

The evaluation does not change the settings

The re-evaluation is a read-only operation: it reads the traffic and the settings in force and produces a result, it does not write any setting. Applying a recommendation is a separate operation and is done from the What It Can Do for You card.

How Does the Evaluation Work?

Everything that the card shows is the result of a single evaluation: a single operation in which the engine goes over the settings at that moment and the traffic learned up to that moment from beginning to end and gives every setting a result mark.

The name of the operation appears scattered on the screen

On the strip this operation does not have a label of its own; its name appears piece by piece: on the Re-assess button and in its tooltip (Runs the engine again over the current settings and the traffic learned so far.), in the …settings were judged expression in the result sentence and in the AI assessment · <setting name> title of the window in which a single setting is examined. This document refers to the operation that covers all of them shortly as the evaluation.

The evaluation is made under the following conditions:

  • When the screen is opened, if there is no result at hand, the evaluation starts by itself; it can also be started manually with Re-assess.
  • When any edit is made on the record (not only the learning settings but the settings of the protections as well), the result is recalculated: the judgment of the engine is earned again according to the setting that has changed.
  • The evaluation takes a short time; a five-minute timeout is applied on the client side.
  • The result is not stored on the server; it is kept in a single place in the browser. For this reason, when the page is refreshed or when the screen of another vService is switched to and then returned from (because the previous result is overwritten), the evaluation is made again.

The timeout and the connection errors are silent

If the server returns an error response, the common error window opens. On the other hand, no notification appears in the timeout and in the connection errors. In both cases a new result is not written and the strip silently returns to its old state: if there is a previous result at hand, the card continues to show it, and if there is no result at all, it stays in the Preparing suggestions… state and the counters appear as zero. A strip that stays in this state permanently may be showing not that the learning does not produce a result but that the evaluation cannot be completed.

Scope and Limits

INFO

  • The card cannot be clicked. Its only control is the Re-assess button in its title.
  • The sentence reports only numbers. Which setting has received which recommendation is read from the badge on the card of the related protection and from the review window opened from the What It Can Do for You card.
  • The findings are not counted as recommendations. They are written as a separate addition to the end of the sentence and they do not enter the waiting recommendation counter.
  • The result is not permanent. Since it is not stored on the server, it is recalculated at every opening of the screen; the numbers seen in two separate sessions may not be the same.
  • The evaluation works independently of the learning mode. Even while learning is Off, the evaluation is made when the screen is opened; what is turned off is only the periodic evaluation.
