sys-cmd route-table
sys-cmd route-table is the command that determines, in WEB-CLI, from within which v-device and which route table belonging to that v-device the network tools will run. In TR7 every route table carries its own interfaces, addresses and routes; a backend in an isolated route table is reached only while that route table is selected. It has two subcommands: show shows the current context, and set changes it.
Command Summary
The default context is the device itself (Host) and its default route table.
sys-cmd route-table show
It shows the current context in a two-column table: v-device and route-table. It has no field.
sys-cmd route-table set
It changes the context. Both fields are mandatory and are written in the order below, without the -- prefix, as the field name and the value.
| Order | Field | Status | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | v-device | Required | Host (the device itself) or the name of a v-device. Tab lists the defined v-devices |
| 2 | route-table | Required | The name of the route table belonging to the selected v-device. The name of the default route table can vary by device (e.g. DEFAULT or DEFAULT_ROUTE); the correct name is taken from the Tab list. Tab lists the route tables of the v-device selected in position 1 |
Tab completes the value by itself if there is a single option (if only the device itself is defined, after v-device the value Host is written); if there is more than one option, it shows the list on the second press. The values are written exactly the same as the name in the Tab list; a value that is not in the list gives an Invalid option: <value> (Geçersiz girdi: <değer> in the Turkish interface) error. The --v-device or --route-table form gives a Command not found error.
How It Works
| Subject | Behavior |
|---|---|
| The title bar | The indicator with the gear icon in the title bar of the WEB-CLI window writes the context like Host device / DEFAULT_ROUTE; the device itself, which appears as Host device in the indicator, is written as Host on the command line. When set is run, the indicator is updated immediately. When the indicator is clicked, a window with the vDevice and Route table fields opens and the same selection is made from there. |
| Storing | In the WEB-CLI in the management interface, the selection is saved to the user's preferences; when the window reconnects, the same context is applied. |
| The affected commands | All the tools with free parameters (ping, curl, tcpdump…), ip show address, frr-console and extend-data-disk. If the selected v-device is not Host, these commands run on that v-device. |
| The commands that are not affected | memory, management-access, support and file always run on the device itself. |
| Recording | Every run is written to the user logs. |
Things to Know
- The context is verified before a test. A target in an isolated route table appears as if there were no access when it is tried from the default context; before starting a diagnosis,
route-table showis run. frr-consoledoes not appear. This command is listed only while a route table with the Dynamic route table setting enabled is selected.- The definition of the route tables is done with the
network namespacecommand or from the Route Tables page; the v-devices are managed with thev-devicecommand.
