Local Services (Cluster)
What Is Local Services?
Local Services is the screen that carries out the service and power operations of the TR7 device from a single place. Operations such as restarting the TR7 configuration service and the health check (Health Check) service; rebooting or shutting down the server on which the device runs; and managing the vDevice services in the physical setups are done from here.
This page describes the two-device (Cluster) view; the operations are offered for both devices. For the single-device view, the Local Services (Standalone) page can be looked at.
Cluster Behavior
In the TR7 installations running as a cluster, the local service operations are monitored and carried out for both devices from the same screen. When the cluster connection is lost, the column of the peer device is blurred and the buttons belonging to that device stay disabled.
Warning
The buttons and the rows displayed on the screen change according to the setup type: the Reload All vDevice Services button and the vDevices rows are displayed only in the physical (vDevice-supported) setups and when there is a vDevice defined on the device; they are not displayed in the virtual machine (VM) setups.
The Local Services Screen
By following the path Settings → Device Management → Local Services, the local service operations belonging to the TR7 device are displayed. In a cluster setup the screen comes in the two-device view below.
The screen is divided into two columns whose headings carry the Server Name values of the devices. In every column there are the button bar belonging to that device and below it the status row labeled Host; on the status row the Service Status and Health Check Service indicators take place side by side. When the column width is not enough to show all the buttons, the « and » scroll arrows appear at the two ends of the bar.

TIP
Reaching the page via quick search
Instead of navigating the menu step by step, the related page is reached directly by using the search bar in the bottom left corner of the screen. The search bar opens with the Alt + T shortcut on Windows and Opt + T on macOS; typing the name of the feature being searched for is then sufficient.
Button Details
In a cluster setup the screen is displayed as two columns that take the server names (hostname) of the devices as their headings and the operations below are offered separately for both devices: in the column of every device there is its own button bar; the operation is applied to the device in whose column the button is clicked (a separate device selection is not made). In the confirmation texts the server name of the device the operation will be applied to is written.
INFO
Restart Configuration Service Confirmation required
It restarts the TR7 configuration service of the related device. Confirmation is requested before the operation: "The configuration service on <server name> will restart. Traffic keeps flowing, but management and monitoring pause for a few seconds." While the service is restarting, the traffic is not interrupted. The button is enabled only while the service of the related device is connected.
INFO
Restart Management Access Confirmation required
It restarts the service that provides the management interface access of the related device. Confirmation is requested before the operation: the management interface access is cut for a short time and the open sessions reconnect. The button is enabled only while the service of the related device is connected.
INFO
Reboot the Device Confirmation required
It reboots the virtual or physical server on which the selected device runs. Confirmation is requested before the operation; during the reboot the related device cannot serve.
INFO
Shut down the Device Confirmation required
It shuts down the virtual or physical server on which the selected device runs. Confirmation is requested before the operation; after the device shuts down, it does not serve until it is powered on manually.
INFO
Reload All vDevice Services Physical setup
It reloads all the vDevice services on the related device; the vDevices are reloaded one after another. This button runs without asking for confirmation. It is displayed only in the vDevice-supported (physical) setups and is enabled while the service of the related device is connected.
INFO
Service Status
Under the Host (Main Device) heading of the related device, it shows the connection status of the TR7 configuration service: while it is connected a green, and while it is not connected a gray status icon is displayed. The refresh icon on the row restarts the service after the configuration service confirmation question.
INFO
Health Check Service
It shows the status of the health check (Health Check) service of the related device: green while it is connected and red while it is not connected. The refresh icon on the row restarts the service after the confirmation question.
INFO
vDevices Physical setup
In the physical setups, separate status rows are displayed for every vDevice:
- vDevice Status: the operating status of the vDevice; green = running, gray = stopped/paused, the accent color = the transition states (starting, shutting down etc.),
- vDevice Service: the connection status of the vDevice service (green or red),
- Health Check Service: the health check service status of the vDevice (green or red).
The refresh icon of every row restarts the related service/vDevice after the confirmation question.
